We are excited to announce the release of Flood Modeller 7.2, which includes new features and enhancements designed to improve your hydrological analysis and streamline your workflow.
Key Features in Version 7.2
1. Access to Flow and Level Gauge Data in Scotland (via SEPA)
Flood Modeller now includes flow and level gauge data from Scotland, provided by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA). This data is integrated with existing gauges from England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, accessible through the Hydrology+ functionality. This comprehensive dataset supports hydrological analyses across the entire UK.
2. Enhanced FATHOM Data Viewing
Building on the introduction of Fathom flood map data in version 7.1, we have introduced several new features to enhance data viewing:
Elevation Conversion: Users can now convert dataset elevations from centimetres to metres during the download process.
Format Options: The download process now includes an option to convert GeoTIFFs to ASCII format for better compatibility with varying opacity settings.
Improved Colour Ramps: A Fathom-specific colour ramp is now available to exclude missing data and highlight positive depth variations.
3. Hydrology+ Compatibility with Latest Peak Flow Database
Hydrology+ has been updated to seamlessly utilise data from the latest Peak Flow database (v13) released by the National River Flow Archive/UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. This update includes new file naming conventions and format changes, ensuring compatibility with sub-versions 13.02 and 13.03.
4. Enhanced Hydrology+ Database Installation
The installation process for the Hydrology+ database system has been improved to ensure seamless setup and accessibility for registered users. An enhanced utility tool now runs automatically during installation.
5. Minor Enhancements and Bug Fixes
Version 7.2 includes over 30 enhancements and bug fixes to improve workflows further and address any reported issues. This includes a rationalised toolbox and removal of legacy tools.
These updates will enhance your experience with Flood Modeller, providing more robust tools and features for your projects.
